Experience
I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Security and Conflict Resolution from San Diego State University. I minored in Islamic and Arabic Studies as well. In 2012, when I graduated from San Diego State, I began working as an assistant teacher at a charter school. My position involves assisting with middle through high school grades in various subjects. Most of the time, I find myself tutoring kids in Algebra-related coursework and Geometry, as a part of my job at the charter school. Right now, I am in the process of earning my credentials to teach and am becoming certified in TEFL. As an assistant in the classrooms where I mentor children, I am able to asses their test and assignment scores to see how my instruction is developing their skills. I use this information to tweak my style for better delivery and absorption. My relationship with my students is important to me. I try to really get to know them and want the best outcome for each one, educationally. I explain material in a way that each person can understand, and then I test their knowledge by having them teach me.I am a well-seasoned traveler, with around thirty countries under my belt. My travels are what led me to become so interested in teaching.
